The Town of Brewster has Tax Work-Off Programs for seniors and veterans that allow citizens to earn savings off their spring real estate tax bill. Volunteers can only participate in one program per year and only one tax credit may be applied per household.

The Senior program is open to 25 participants. Volunteers must complete 67 hours of service to the Town to get the full credit of $1,000 per year or a $500 reduction in exchange for 33.5 hours.
Requirements:
The program starts February 1st and ends September 31. The tax credit will appear on the following Spring Real Estate tax bill. Applications are available at the Brewster Senior Center starting November 1st of each year and are due by December 12th.
The Veteran program is open to 10 participants. Volunteers must complete 67 hours of service to the Town to get the full credit of $1,000 per year or a $500 reduction in exchange for 33.5 hours.

Volunteer hours can be performed at the Senior Center, Library, Police Department, or other Town departments. You will be matched based on your interest and job availability.
